17th Feb 2013: Prof. Brahmachari delivered the first convocation address of Bastar University, Jagdalpur (Chattisgarh). Prof. Brahmachari was also conferred Honorary D.Sc Degree (Honaris causa) by the University on this occasion. This is the fifth Honorary D.Sc degree being conferred on Prof. Brahmachari, the previous ones being awarded by  Vidyasagar University, (2009), Kalyani University (2010), National Institute of Technology, Silchar (2011) and Amity University (2012). The occasion was graced by Governor of the State Shri Shekhar Dutt; Chief Minister Shri Raman Singh;  Higher Education Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam and PHE Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap along with other dignitaries. Stating that upcoming institutions like Bastar University reflects India's commitment towards building knowledge based society,  Prof. Brahmachari spoke about the need of inclusive development and the role young students play towards shaping a prosperous nation.
